The standard from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) represents a continuous improvement process in our company. Furthermore, our organization will continue to evolve through the current 2015 revision of the standard with the Quality Management (QM) system, in order to question existing structures and processes and continue to optimize them. In this way, ISO 9001:2015 paves the way for a modern management system. Quality management is a living practice in our company. All quality-relevant procedures are subject to a continuous control and improvement process.
UL certification
Our machines are certified with UL in addition to CE. In North America, the UL Mark is proof that a representative number of our products have been tested by UL and meet the applicable standards and other requirements for the potential risks of fire, electric shock, and mechanical hazards. Particularly with regard to occupational safety, UL demands the very highest standards. Following our Schlemmer philosophy, our claim is to be even better than what UL requires.

In the founding year, the industrial revolution in the field of capacitor discharge welding demanded large-scale systems with more capacity and performance, which met the requirements of the changing OEMs and the automotive supplier industry. The advantages achieved with this welding process (CD-welding) revolutionized manufacturing processes significantly and sustainably.
Due to high demand, the company moved to its own offices and production facilities at Centrumstrasse 7 in 1988. Another milestone was the acquisition of the offices and production facilities at Centrumstrasse 4 in 1997, with an additional 5000 sqm. To be directly on-site with international customers, branches were also opened in Asia, Russia, and the USA.
The three managing partners, along with their long-serving and highly trained employees, lead the family business. The second-generation managing partner, Mr. Marc Schlemmer, was involved in daily business from childhood and has the technical and commercial experience and competence to handle customer projects worldwide.
Then as now, it is our endeavor to solve customer-specific welding processes individually and to realize high-quality series production, even in larger output volumes. The company works closely with the Universities of Aachen and Bochum, where Schlemmer machines are also used for research and development. Numerous developments have produced groundbreaking customer solutions for welding applications.
Our customers include renowned OEMs such as Daimler, GM, Ford, and VW, as well as various automotive suppliers like the seat manufacturer Johnson Controls, SITECH, ThyssenKrupp, Mahle, and many others. We also count many prestigious industrial clients among our references.
